Digital footprint

Digital footprintEvery time you go online, you leave a digital footprint. This means that information about you is saved, sometimes forever. When you post a photo, write a comment, share or like a video, many people can see that data.

Your digital footprint is created by you, but some other people can contribute.

For example, if your friend shares a picture of you without asking.

Companies, teachers, and universities often check your profile. They can learn about your likes and dislikes, your friends, and even your location.

Additionally, hackers could take advantage of that information to harm you.

Think before you post. A joke today may be a problem tomorrow.

Your digital footprint can help you or hurt you.

Always ask yourself: "What does this post say about me and the ones that surround me?"
